- Use the credentials you received (directly or via an external website) and log into the account.
- Make sure that the content on the account is correct (correct edition of the game, no playtime etc)
- Change the credentials to make the account your own:
- Change the email
- Change the password
- Add 2FA (Steam Guard)
- Please note that it may not be possible to add the purchased account to an existing Steam Family and to enable Family Sharing.
- The account should be used as a way of accessing the game/content you are interested in. It is not recommended to use it as your main account, as you might have issues with making purchases on it.
Applying any changes to the purchased account, such as adding a payment method or changing the region, may result in the account being banned. In such cases, no refund is applicable.
Step 1: Log Out of Your Current Steam Account
Open Steam Client:
- Launch the Steam client on your computer.
- Click on your username in the top-right corner of the Steam window.
- Select "Log out of account" from the drop-down menu.
- Confirm the log-out action when prompted.
Step 2 Log In with Provided Credentials
Log In with New Credentials:
- On the Steam login screen, enter the username and password provided for the game account.
- Click "Login" to access the account.
- Step 3: Access the Game Library
- Once logged in, click on the "Library" tab in the Steam client.
- You should see the game associated with the account in the list of games.
- Step 4: Download and Install the Game
- Find the game in your Library.
- Click on the game title to view its details page.
- Click the "Install" button to download and install the game on your computer.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.
- Step 5: Change Account Email and Password (Recommended for Security)
- Click on your username in the top-right corner of the Steam client.
- Select "Account details" from the drop-down menu.
- In the "Account details" page, click on "Change my password."
- Follow the prompts to set a new password for the account.
- In the "Account details" page, click on "Manage my account with Security & Privacy Settings."
- Select "Change contact email" and follow the prompts to enter a new email address.
- Verify the new email address through the confirmation email sent by Steam.
- Step 6: Confirm Changes
- Check your new email address for the verification email from Steam.
- Click on the verification link in the email to confirm the change.
- Ensure that all changes have been applied and that you can log in with the new credentials.
